Using Hemp Fibre Blends Exclusively
At Goodlids, we are committed to using hemp fibres exclusively in our garments. Hemp is the foundation of every Goodlids garment because of its durability, versatility and comparatively low-input cultivation. We currently have three core hemp fibre-blends.
-

Hemp/Organic Cotton
An all-natural allrounder. Breathable, antimicrobial and great for year-round wear.
-

Hemp/Recycled Nylon
Our most weather-resistant hemp fibre-blend. Durable - yet breathable and antimicrobial. Great for outdoor-use.
-

Hemp/Merino Wool
Nature's most durable performance fibre. Insulating, yet airy and breathable. Lightweight and fine, yet robustly durable. Great for winter and the shoulder seasons.

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, but we’re not interested in pretending we’ve solved everything. Four core goals for improvement over the next 12-24 months follow:

Extend Product Life + Close Loop
Continuous improvement of product R&D aims to increase all products to be designed and tested for at least five years of regular use. By December 2028 we aim to introduce a repair and re-commerce program to close the loop on the product life-cycle - greatly minimising our impact on the natural world.

Improve Logistics Efficiency
We currently ship 30% of our goods by air, and 70% by sea. We aim to materially reduce the impact of our manufacturing process by moving to 100% of freight by sea where commercially and operationally viable, while greatly reducing reliance on air freight.

Diversify Marketing Spend
Reduce our dependence on big tech media. 80% of our marketing budget is currently spent on Meta/Google. We aim to reduce this to 70% in the next 12 months, redistributing to local/international independent print media and individual creator partnerships.

Achieve B Corp Certification
We have set ourselves the goal of achieving B Corp Certification by December 2027. We see certification as an external benchmark for the standards we expect of ourselves across governance, workers, community, customers and environmental impact, rather than a finish line.
